December was a wonderfully wet month for California. One of the wettest in a long time. BUT - it still did not make much of a dent in the drought. We are very much still in a drought!
NASA estimated a few weeks ago that we needed around 11 billion gallons of water to end the drought. Note that is the amount we need back into our water system, not just rainfall. We need MUCH more rain.
